5 Ways to Get Creative with Collagen

As you may have seen in the shelves of your nearest Whole Foods or natural grocer, Vital Proteins Collagen is becoming a staple in the diets of all of us health nuts.

What is collagen?

It's a naturally occurring protein, which is abundant in our bodies while we're young, but as we get older, the production slows down. It helps keep our skin, hair and nails healthy, our joints working well and our digestion moving smoothly.

How often should you add collagen to your day?

It depends! For those that are older, and might need a boost in skin elasticity, healthier hair and joints, or a little extra help with their digestion, adding it in once a day can help.

Why Vital Proteins?

I am one to opt for clean-label products with minimal processing, and all of Vital Proteins' products meet the mark.  Two scoops of their taste-free Collagen Peptides includes 20 g of collagen,  70 calories, and 18 g of protein..zero sugar, fat, and carbs. With nutrition facts like that, why not add into your diet when you can?

What are the best ways to incorporate it into your diet?

  1. Add it to your morning coffee or Matcha.
  2. Add a scoop into your protein smoothie (recipes coming soon)!
  3. Mix it in some yogurt.
  4. Add it to your pancakes. For a gluten-free/dairy-free recipe option, check out my previous post!
  5. Use it in your favorite healthy treat recipe! Adding it into the batter is super easy and it's tasteless, so you'll never know the difference.

Where can you find it?

You can get your month's supply at Whole Foods Market, on the Vital Proteins website, or on Amazon.
